AC/DC – Shoot to Thrill

This is a live performance by the Australian rock band AC/DC playing the song “Shoot to Thrill” live. The performance is from the 1991 gig AC/DC played at Donington.
The song first appeared on the band’s 1980 “Back in Black” album. The song also appears on “AC/DC Live” and on the “Iron Man 2” soundtrack. The song is credited to: Angus Young, Malcolm Young, and Brian Johnson.
It’s a great song and a great performance. I love how it throws in the Hendrix chord right before the chorus, great idea that adds variety to the sound of the song. It’s also a great showcase for Angus Young who delivers an amazing rock ‘n’ roll guitar solo for this one. Truly a great performance of an amazing song.

Enjoy ; )

Tina Turner - Nutbush City Limits

This is a live performance by American rock and pop artist Tina Turner doing a smoking performance of the song "Nutbush City Limits".
The song is a semi-autobiographical song written by Tina Turner commemorating her rural background in the town of Nutbush, Tennessee. It was written by Tina Turner and initially released in 1973. It was recorded with Ike Turner whom Tina divorced shortly after the release of this song, making it the duo's last hit single. The song has since been covered by other artists and also been re-recorded by Tina on several occasions. In fact Tina has released the following re-recordings: A 1988 live version, a 1991 remix, and a 1993 re-recording for the autobiographical film "What's Love Got to Do With It?"
Other artists who have done versions of the song include: Bob Seger, Martin Barre from Jethro Tull, and in 1980 Brian Johnson sang the song as part of his audition for AC/DC.
It really is an amazing song. And this performance that Tina puts on, it's truly amazing. She's dancing, singing, and walking on a crane arm reaching out to the audience. She just loves performing and it just shines through so good. This is what Tina's all about to me, a great rock 'n' roll performer with more energy than anyone, truly a rock 'n' roll queen!

Enjoy ; )

AC/DC – Whole Lotta Rosie

This is a live performance by Australian hard rock/ rock ‘n’ roll band AC/DC performing their classic song “Whole Lotta Rosie”. The performance is from 1977.
The song originally appeared on the band’s fourth Australian release “Let There Be Rock” released in Australia in 1977.
The song was written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young and Bon Scott. The lyrics are about Bon Scott’s on experience with a heavy set woman. This woman has never been identified though.
The song has become very popular and the band often plays it live. It has also appeared on every official live album released by the band. Also in versions sung by Brain Johnson. When they play the song live today it is usually accompanied by a huge blowup version of Rosie as a stage effect.
The song is very popular and has been played live by a lot of bands, bands like: Anthrax, Airborne and Guns N’ Roses.
It’s a great song and a really good performance by the guys.

Enjoy ;-)

AC/DC - Highway to Hell

This is a live performance by Australian hard rock band AC/DC playing their classic song "Highway to Hell" live at Donnington '91.
The song is the title track of the album and the album was released in 1979. This was band's sixth studio album (It was the 5th international release by the band). This was also the last album to feature singer Bon Scott, at this performance Brian Johnson who replaced Scott is singing. The album is one of the band's best selling ending at 7x platinum which was very very good, though they outdid these numbers with their following releases.
It's a great song and it's all that rock 'n' roll and hard rock is supposed to be. The lyrics reflect the hard life style of being on the road and Angus Young does a solo where he borrows heavily from Chuck Berry. Doesn't get much better than that.

Enjoy ; )

AC/DC - The Jack

Now it's time for the rock-side of things. This a performance by Australian hard rock band "AC/DC". It's the song "The Jack" from their 1975 Australian release  T.N.T. The song was originally recorded with Bon Scott on vocals, but since this performance is from 2003 Brian Johnson who does a banging job on it.
The song is essentially a typical blues structure, with a change between the three chords B, A and E played in a classic blues shuffle. It's a great performance, and shows the blues influence, not only in the rhythm playing, but also in Angus's lead playing.
Also love how both Angus and Brian really work the stage, and give a performance out of the ordinary. I mean Brian runs across stage, and reaches as much of the audience as possible, and Angus is just on, and performs brilliantly for the audience.
Truly a great performance by an awesome band.

Enjoy ; )
