Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit

This is a live performance by psychedelia/acid rock band Jefferson Airplane playing their perhaps most known song "White Rabbit" live at the infamous Woodstock Festival in 1969.
The song was originally released in 1967 on the album "Surrealistic Pillow". The song was released as a single and it reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was written by Grace Slick who brought the song to the group when she joined the group in 1966. The song's lyrics are allusive towards the classic tale "Alice in Wonderland", but these allusions are believed to have a second meaning that is the effects of hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD. The song is set to a rising crescendo which gives the song a bit of a Spanish feel. It's a great song, and it was one of the first songs to sneak drug references past censors and it's simply a classic.

Jimi Hendrix - Lover Man

This is a live performance by Jimi Hendrix playing his classic song "Lover Man". The performance is from The Royal Albert Hall in 1969.
The song "Lover Man", also known under the titles: "Here He Comes" and "Here He Comes Your Lover Man", is unique in that a studio version wasn't released until 2010. It has been performed live on numerous occasions and performed as early as 1968. The structure of the song is the same they'd use when covering B.B. King's tune "Rock Me Baby".
It's a great song and Hendrix really adds that unique touch and sound to this tune. My favourite version is a rare take that I haven't really identified. It's from youtube and all I know is that it's rare. Embeded below:

There's no video, just pictures. The audio quality is really good though and to me it sounds like a deposited studio take. It's a slower version of the song which I really dig. The slow tempo really adds to the psychedelia factor. Also the extended wah wah solo at the end of the song.
I love this take and any version of this song. It's so good and one of Hendrix's best in my opinion.

The Doors – Back Door Man

This is a live performance by The Doors playing the classic blues song “Back Door Man” live. The concert footage is from 1969.
The song “Back Door Man” is a traditional blues song written by Willie Dixon who wrote the song for Howlin’ Wolf. Wolf’s version was released on his 1961 self-titled album. And the song is considered a classic of the Chicago blues.
The Doors version of the song first appeared on their 1967 self-titled album. And the song became a standard cover song for the band.
It’s a good performance of a classic song. But also brings that 60’s psychedilia into the song.

The Doors - Wild Child

This is a video from the classic late 60's band The Doors. It's a video consisting of footage of some native-American kids spliced together with studio footage of The Doors recording the song "Wild Child". I don't know if it was a fan made video or an official video.
The song Wild Child is built up quite simple, with one riff pretty much driving the song, and then changing when the song breaks into the chorus. The riff is mainly a guitar riff played by Robby Krieger, but a Hammond B3 organ is also added, to give the song that trippy 60's feel. Robby also plays a psychedelic bottle neck slide that just fits the song perfectly.
The song was released as a single in December of 1968, but it was a B-side to the song "Touch Me".

It's a really good stoner song, with that delightful 60's psychedelic sound. A great video, and a really good song.

Jimi Hendrix - The Wind Cries Mary

This is a performance from Stockholm in 1967 The Jimi Hendrix Experience play one of their famous songs "The Wind Cries Mary". The song was also released in 1967 and became one of Hendrix's first songs that got popular in Europe. In America it was released as a B-Side to the song "Purple Haze".
The song would fall in the category of psychedelic blues rock, it's a great song, and it showcases just what Hendrix was about and able to create.

Jimi Hendrix - Red House

This is a clip from the classic Woodstock festival of 1969. The clip is of Hendrix's band of Gypsies performing the Hendrix tune "Red House". It's one of the bluesiest tunes of Hendrix's who very often were more rock 'n' roll. It's like a psychedelic blues, mixing the blues with a hint of psychedelia.
The song has become a blues standard, and is respected and covered by many artists. Artists like Gary Moore, Prince and Johnny Winter. But it's also been covered by some of the great blues legends, and Hendrix's own idols like; Buddy Guy, Albert King and John Lee Hooker.
Truly a great tune adapted by the blues legends. Hendrix was a legend, a true master of his instrument, an innovator and just plain out of this world.

The Doors & John Lee Hooker - Roadhouse Blues

The video is a fan made video. The song is from the 2000 album "Stoned Immaculate: The Music of The Doors". It is an album recorded by the surviving members of The Doors, and features many guest performances. Like this one featuring blues legend John Lee Hooker. The track was put together in the studio using a posthumous vocal by Morrison. It is a great song, and it showcases that "The Doors" also had the blues, and getting a guy like Hooker is a stamp of approval in my book.
