Ozzy Osbourne - Mama, I'm Coming Home

This is the music video to the song "Mama, I'm Coming Home" by heavy metal and hard rock artist Ozzy Osbourne.
The song was released as a single in 1992 and it is off Ozzy's "No More Tears" album released in 1991. The song was written by Ozzy Osbourne, his guitarist Zakk Wylde, and Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. Lemmy was brought in as a song writer on this album.
It's a really good song. The perfect power ballad, not too heavy and not too "fuzzy-cute". The perfect power ballad.

Enjoy ; )

Motörhead - Killed by Death

This is a live performance by heavy metal band Motörhead playing their classic song "Killed by Death" live.
The song was released in 1984 on both 7" and 12" vinyl. It peaked at #51 on the UK Singles Chart. The single also had a music video, it's pretty cheesy, but pretty hilarious as well (click here to check out the music video). The song is credited to: Lemmy, Phil Campbell, Würzel, and Pete Gill.
It's a great song, straight forward rock 'n' roll with a lot of sexual innuendo in the lyrics, great song and performance.

Foo Fighters - White Limo

This is a live performance by American rock band Foo Fighters performing their new song "White Limo" live at the Ed Sullivan theatre.
The song is off their recently released "Wasting Light" album. It is the band's seventh studio album and it debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 which just goes to show that rock acts can still rule the charts. It has mainly gotten positive reviews commenting on the good song writing and the nice production work done on the album's sound. "White Limo" is the fourth track on the album and was also the first song to get a music video. The video features the band members being driven around in a white limousine. The driver of this limousine is none other than rock legend Lemmy Kilmister. This marks, from my knowledge, his second cameo in a music video as a driver as he also drove the truck in Australian band Airbourne's video to their song "Runnin' Wild". Click here for the music video of White Limo.
I really love Foo Fighters' performance of this song. I love how the band are wearing suits to resemble The Beatles. I also love Dave Grohl's mini guitar solo towards the end of the song, especially how he opens it with a little Chuck Berry riff thus reminding us that all rock music really stems from the same well of inspiration, if that makes any sense.
But a great performance of a really good song.

Motörhead - Stay Clean

This is a live performance by rock band Motörhead playing a version of their classic song "Stay Clean".
I really love this song and the performance the band puts on. Lemmy plays a banging job on the bass, and I love the bass solo towards the end, it's so fast and bad-ass, gotta love that.
Of course Mikkey Dee delivers a banging rhythm throughout the song and Phil Campbell ends the song nicely with a very good solo.
A great performance of a great song by a great band.

The Highway Men - Big River

This is a live performance by the country supergroup The Highway Men. They perform the classic Johnny Cash song "Big River". The Highway Men is a supergroup consisting of various members who are most known for influencing the sub-genre of country known as "outlaw country". The genre was big in the 60's and 70's and also somewhat popular in the 80's. It is known for having a specific sound, and the artists are often self-declared outlaws in music.
The song Big River is a Johnny Cash original and it was released in 1958. Cash is also one of the members of the band, alongside; Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. I think it's a really good performance, and a really well written song.
Of course as with so many other good songs it has been covered. My favourite cover is the one done by Motörhead front man Lemmy. He really sings it well and it somehow fits his voice really well. I've embeded that version beneath.

Brian Setzer - Run Rudolph Run

The song "Run Rudolph Run" has become a Christmas classic, and is one of the most recognizable rock 'n' roll Christmas songs. The song was popularized by Chuck Berry, and it was originally released in 1958 as a b-side to Berry's version of "Merry Christmas, Baby".
The song has been covered by an endless list of performers, including: Lynrd Skynrd, Sheryl Crow, Keith Richards, Foghat, Billy Idol, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem and a supergroup consisting of Lemmy Kilmister, Billy Gibbons and Dave Grohl, to only name a few.
I think that Brian Setzer and his orchestra do a fantastic job with the song, they play it like straight forward happy 50's rock 'n' roll which fits the song very well.
Below is the Lemmy, Gibbons and Grohl version embeded, it's a good version too, but I still prefer Setzer's version, but they're both good.

Motörhead - Ace of Spades (Acoustic) (100th post)

This is a recently recorded acoustic version of the Motörhead song "Ace of Spades", they recorded it for a European beer commercial, and took the tempo down to a slow blues progression. Really shows the relation between genres, when you can just slow something down and add an acoustic guitar instead of an electric, and boom heavy metal turned into slow acoustic blues.
The top box is the new single in its full length, and the two videos are the commercial in which the song is featured, and a behind the scenes following Motörhead as they recorded the song.
I really like this song, it really shows that Lemmy has a broad style, and can play many different types of music. This is just pure acoustic blues, and I love it. It both features acoustic guitars playing the slow main rhythm part, a blues harp solo by Lemmy and a Dobro solo by Phil Campbell. It's a great song, and it really shows that Motörhead is much more than a metal band.

Motörhead - Whorehouse Blues

This is a performance from the 2007 at Montreux, Motörhead performs their song "Whorehouse Blues" from the 2004 album "Inferno". The song is an acoustic blues song reflecting on 30 years on the road sometimes being and hanging out with the low end of society. Motörhead is a hard working band, and a band that lives for the road. They've had a career that's been going up and down, and sometimes it was even difficult to get gigs in some parts of Europe. So Motörhead certainly hasn't had it easy all the time.
On the song Lemmy plays harmonica in a traditional straight forward blues style, Mikkey Dee (the drummer) plays rhythm guitar whilst keeping a simple beat with a bass drum, and Phil Campbell plays along the rhythm and also does a solo. This is a very good acoustic blues track, of you like this kind of thing you'll enjoy it.
