B.B. King - How Blue Can You Get

This is a performance from "The Late Show". It features B.B. King performing his classic song "How Blue Can You Get" with Paul Shaffer and the CBS orchestra. It's a great version of the song, and the CBS orchestra is great, it's such a joy to hear King performing with a horn section.
There is a mini interview after the performance, it's pretty entertaining, but the performance is the best part for sure. Prettye fun to see David trying to get King to sing with him.

John Mayer & Eric Clapton - Crossroads

Here's a performance by Eric Clapton and John Mayer. They play the classic Johnson tune "Crossroads". The song was originally made under the title "Cross Road Blues" as a one-person acoustic blues tune by the ahead of his time talented Robert Johnson. The band Cream, of which Clapton was a member, covered the song on their "Wheels of Fire" album in an electrified version coming off the 60's blues vibe in London.
It is a blues classic, and Clapton's version has been covered by numerous artists, including Rush, Elmore James, John Mayer to name a few.

Jeff Beck & B.B. King - Key to The Highway

This is a performance by B.B. King and Jeff Beck, it's from 2003. They perform the song "Key to The Highway", a song that's been part of King's repertoire for a long time. It is considered a blues classic, originally recorded in 1940 by Charlie Segar, and since covered by a number of blues artists. It was originally a 12-bar blues, but when covered by Big Bill Broonzy, he changed it to an 8-bar blues that sounds similar to the one performed today.
I love this performance, and the playful attitude the players have. There's nothing but respect between them. King's got the feelin', but Beck's got some speed, and in the end they're both great, it's never a competition.

If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day - Eric Clapton live

This clip is taken from Clapton's 2004 performance at the Crossroads guitar festival. It's a great version of this Robert Johnson classic, and showcases what Clapton does best, and have been doing since the early 60's: Electrifying the classic blues tunes and spreading the blues to a wider audience. Clapton also once said that it takes more than one person to duplicate what Johnson was doing in the 20's and 30's, and with this full orchestra he definetely does justice to the original.

Great Collaboration Albert King & Gary Moore

This is a great clip featuring Albert King and Gary Moore performing together. They play the song 'Stormy Monday' originally performed by and written by T-Bone Walker. It's a great performance, love how Albert's stone cold blues mixes fluently with Gary's more rock influenced sound. Great performance of a great song.
