Rush - Tom Sawyer

This is a live performance by Canadian rock band Rush performing their classic song "Tom Sawyer" live.
The song takes name after Mark Twain's literary character Tom Sawyer. It was originally released on the band's 1981 album "Moving Pictures" and many albums and compilations since. The song uses synthesizers and the drum techniques of drummer Neil Peart to create the unique sound "Tom Sawyer" has. The song did relatively well in the charts, was inducted into The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and became a staple on local hard rock stations everywhere.
It's a great song that has a unique sound.

Rush - 2112 (Overture/The Temple of Syrinx)

This is a live performance from Canadian progressive rock band Rush playing the first two parts of the song "2112" from the album of the same name.
The "2112" album was released in 1976. The title track of the alum is a 20 minute suite composed by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson with lyrics by the drummer Neil Peart. The composition tells the story of a dystopian society in the year 2112. This 20 minute suite and the fact that the album is named after it makes people think that it is a concept album. However technically it's not because the rest of the songs on the album have nothing to do with the suite and its lyrics.
The song is divided into 7 parts adding to the lengthy running time of about 20 minutes.

I think it's a very good song and live performance. Rush is definitely an impressive band.

The Rolling Stones - Paint It, Black

This is a live performance by the British rock band The Rolling Stones performing their iconic song "Paint It, Black".
The song was released in 1966 as a single from their album "Aftermath". The title was originally "Paint It Black" without the comma and according to an interview with Keith Richards the comma was added by the record company. The song was written by Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, but the main riff and the Indian feel can be attributed to guitarist Brian Jones. The single reached no. 1 positions in both US and UK charts. It was named the 174th best song ever by Rolling Stone Magazine and the first no. 1 single to feature a sitar.
It has become one of The Rolling Stones most iconic songs and has been covered by a long list of people, including: Deep Purple, U2, Vanessa Carlton, R.E.M ,Rush and many more.
It's a great song, though the lyrics are a little weird. Keith Richards has stated in interviews that he doesn't really know what they exactly mean.
It's a great song and part of the band's live repertoire. A great song and a great performance.

John Mayer & Eric Clapton - Crossroads

Here's a performance by Eric Clapton and John Mayer. They play the classic Johnson tune "Crossroads". The song was originally made under the title "Cross Road Blues" as a one-person acoustic blues tune by the ahead of his time talented Robert Johnson. The band Cream, of which Clapton was a member, covered the song on their "Wheels of Fire" album in an electrified version coming off the 60's blues vibe in London.
It is a blues classic, and Clapton's version has been covered by numerous artists, including Rush, Elmore James, John Mayer to name a few.
