Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble with The Fabulous Thunderbirds - Keep It To Yourself

This is a live performance by Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band Double Trouble who are joined on stage with members from The Fabulous Thunderbirds. They play the song "Keep It To Yourself" which is a typical blues shuffle in E.
On stage, as far as I can tell, are: Stevie Ray Vaughan, his brother Jimmie Vaughan, Kim Wilson (from TFTB), Chris Layton (drums), and Tommy Shannon (bass).
The performance is from 1987 at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and it was recorded on the riverboat S.S. Presidente. I'm guessing this was a double billing kind of thing where one band opened for the other, and then they all sort of did this jam to end things off.
It's a great performance. Of course the Vaughan Brothers deliver a couple of great blues solos, and Kim Wilson does a pretty good harmonica solo as well.
And over all great and enjoyable performance.

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Honey Bee

This is a 1984 performance from a German festival. It was back when Double Trouble was a trio consisting of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon.
It's a great performance, and Stevie really gives a lot. Plus "Honey Bee" is a great little up tempo blues song, with a smoking intro.

There's also a little interview afterwards which is also pretty interesting.

Enjoy ; )

Buddy Guy & John Mayer - Leave My Little Girl Alone

This is a performance of John Mayer and Buddy Guy jamming on Buddy's classic song "Leave My Little Girl Alone". They are accompanied by Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon from Stevie Ray Vaughan's band Double Trouble. Stevie being one of Mayer's idols, if not his no. 1 idol and with good reasoning.
The song was also recorded by Stevie on his legendary blues album "In Step", and Stevie was a huge fan of Buddy. Stevie also covered Buddy's version of "Mary Had a Little Lamb".
It's a great performance, and Mayer is a splendid guitarist. Love how Mayer and Buddy bounce of each other, and both enjoy the jam, a great performance.

Enjoy ; )
